On August 28,the second"Chinese Archaeology·Zhengzhou Forum"was held in Zhengzhou.The forum was hosted by the Chinese Academy of History and the Chinese Society of Archaeology,and hosted by the Henan Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics,the People's Government of Zhengzhou City,Zhengzhou The Source of China and Songshan Civilization Research Association,and the Henan Provincial Society of Cultural Relics and Archaeology.Nearly 400 representatives from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage,various scientific research institutes,universities and other related units and media representatives participated in the forum.

　　Tracing Civilization:Opening Ceremony of the 70 Years of Archaeology in Henan,China

　　The day before the opening of the forum,on August 27,the"Tracing Civilization:Seventy Years of Archaeology in Henan in New China"opened at the Zhengzhou Museum.Gu Yucai,deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage,attended the opening ceremony.A total of 1,225 pieces(sets)of cultural relics will be exhibited in this exhibition,which showcases the major archaeological discoveries and research results of Henan in the past 70 years.

　　With the theme of"70 Years of Archaeology in New China",this forum will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China,review the development of Chinese archaeology in the past 70 years,summarize the experience in discipline construction,academic research and archaeological work,and clarify the future Direction of development.The forum was organized by the professional committees of the Chinese Archaeological Society,and reviewed the fruitful achievements of New China's archaeology in the form of theme reports,academic seminars,hot dialogues,and experience sharing.

　　Li Boqian,a professor at Peking University and chairman of the Zhengzhou China Origin and Songshan Civilization Research Association,said at the opening ceremony,“'Chinese Archaeology·Zhengzhou Forum'is a permanent high-end academic forum of Chinese archaeology,which aims to deeply explore the significance of Chinese archaeology.Academic issues and research promote the development of Chinese archaeology.This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China.To commemorate the 70 years of New China’s archaeology,we gathered in the Central Plains to look back on every breakthrough in the development of disciplines and look forward to the future of archaeology.In the future,as a high-end academic platform with international cultural influence in Chinese archaeology,the'Chinese Archaeology·Zhengzhou Forum'will bear sweeter fruits."

　　At the stage of the keynote speech,Wang Wei,member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and chairman of the Chinese Society of Archaeology,said that in reviewing and summarizing the path and experience of Chinese archaeology in the past 70 years,we must first adhere to dialectical materialism and historical materialism to guide The work and research of Chinese archaeology;when drawing on foreign theories and practices,we must insist on starting from China’s reality;we must insist on using field archaeology as the starting point and foothold of research;we must insist on multidisciplinary integration,and archaeology must be at the center and at the same time.Dominant position;archaeology in historical period should insist on the combination of archaeological materials and historical documents,and at the same time use archaeological materials as the first starting point and foothold;must insist on studying China from an international perspective and studying regions from a Chinese perspective;archaeological work must insist on Mainly protection is conducive to the protection of cultural heritage;innovative thinking must be adhered to,innovation,development,and progress must be made on the basis of predecessors;archaeological work must insist that national interests are above all else;must persist in in-depth research and popularization Combine.

　　Subsequently,representatives of the 18 archaeological committees of the Chinese Archaeological Society reviewed the history of the People’s Republic of China in their respective fields during the 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,and conducted a comprehensive and in-depth review and summary of theoretical exploration,academic research,and work practice.The progress and situation of the current work are summarized and evaluated,and the goals of future work and the direction of subject development are prospected.(Jia Changming)
